Come on out to Heartwood every Thursday night for live music from The Crooked Road and a special Heartwood barbeque menu. First, third and fifth Thursdays are open jam nights. Bring your instrument and join a circle. Don’t play? That’s okay! We welcome everyone to join us for dinner or just grab a drink and walk around and listen. Second and fourth Thursdays are showcase nights for Southwest Virginia youth musicians or The Crooked Road venues from around the region.

Giles County

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the file, Dirty Dancing, at the Dirty Dancing Festival on August 11th in downtown Pearisburg. Activities include Children Activities, Mountain Lake Bus Tours, Dirty Dancing Indoor Movie Showing, Silent Auction, Log Dance Contest, Baby & Johnny Look-A-Like Contest, Dirty Dancing Lessons, Dirty Dance Competition, Talent Show, Live! Sound Express/The Legacy Band. Access to festival vendors, car cruise-in and many of the activities are FREE! Enter an activity or contest for just one ticket or $3!

The Crooked Road presents the Venues Showcase as part of the Music Series on Thursday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. featuring Jammin' at the Jettie from Dickenson County. Admission is free but donations will be accepted for the members of the Jammin' at the Jettie.

Washington County

The Crooked Road presents the Venues Showcase as part of the Music Series on Thursday, April 26th at 7:00 p.m. featuring the Country Cabin II Jam from Wise County. Admission is free but donations will be accepted for the members of the Country Cabin I Jam.

Washington County

The Crooked Road presents the Venues Showcase as part of the Music Series on Saturday, March 31 at 4:00 p.m. featuring the Patrick County Music Association. Admission is free but donations will be accepted for the members of the Patrick County Music Association.

Russell County

Jam every Thursday night begins at 6:30 or 7pm. Listen to local musicians play old time and bluegrass music -- or bring your instrument and join in.

Grayson County

Every Tuesday Night- 7:00 PM. The Mt. Rogers Combined School in Whitetop, VA offers free music lessons (banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bass, and dance) and a community jam session on every Tuesday night. The music begins around 7 pm and goes on until late. Everyone (including children & pets) is welcome.

Wise County

Every Thursday at 7pm musicians gather for a jam at the Town Hall. Come join us!

Franklin County

The 77 Restaurant "Monday Night Jam Session" is located in Ferrum, Va. Every Monday night friends and neighbors gather to play music and relax at the restaurant. The restaurant does not offer food and the time of the jam session, but drinks are available. This is a free family friendly event that you are sure to enjoy. The 77 Restaurant "Monday Night Jam Session" is an Affiliated Venue on The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail.

Franklin County

The Waidsboro Ruritan Club jam features traditional old-time string band music and bluegrass favorites on the first and third Thursdays of the month. It draws from Franklin Countys rich pool of fiddlers and banjo players. Directions: From the intersection of Route 220 and Route 40 follow Route 40 west through Rocky Mount toward Ferrum. Once out of the downtown area proceed four miles or so. Take a sharp left onto Ruritan Road. Follow Ruritan Road and watch for the club on the right.
