Rivers to Ridges Artisan Trail
The misty white clouds raising from the hollows and valleys gives the mountains that blue green color so famous in song lyrics, poetry and books. Breezes carry the smell of pines and the clean aromas of deep forests and mountain streams. A unique folk culture developed in these southern Appalachian Mountains from the time the first pioneers moved into the region in the 1700s and todays visitors are offered a view into this rich craft tradition of quilting, carving, canning, music and dance.
