The Galax Leaf & String Festival continues to be one of the original family friendly events. There will be plenty of fun things for the kids to do including hands-on art projects and performances at the Author Stage and in the Historic Rex. Local food vendors and civic groups will be on hand to provide a variety of fare and the streets will be lined with some of the areas finest artisans and craft vendors.
Don't miss this special event, held each year at Grayson Highlands State Park in Mouth of Wilson, Va. The festival features the area's best traditional musicians. It's $10 per person, and kids under 12 get in free.
