Benge Gap Overlook

Route 23 travels high above the Powell River Valley between Norton and Big Stone Gap. The overlook with its scenic walkway gives you a chance to appreciate the vista of mountain and farmland. The overlook is named for Chief Benge who was killed nearby by militia in 1794, after a raid on a settler farm.
