In an effort to bring to Southwest VA the kind of craft fair one might find in a more urban environment, Jessica Jones has launched a series of street markets to be held in Downtown Blacksburg, VA.
The Burnt Creative Vintage and Indie Craft Market will feature local and regional vendors offering vintage and handcrafted clothing, jewelry, accessories, housewares, furniture, and much more. With the exception of June, all markets (April, May, September, October) will take place on Roanoke Street, between Draper Road and Otey Street, near the Blacksburg Farmers Market from 9:00am-3:00pm.
The June market will be incorporated into Blacksburg’s Summer Solstice Fest in the heart of downtown and will be open from 2:00pm-8:00pm. The December market will participate in the Winter Lights Festival in Downtown Blacksburg as a “pop-up shop” at an indoor location TBA.
The Burnt Creative Market is an attempt to breathe new life into a traditional-style craft fair. Every effort has been made to showcase artisans not usually found at craft fairs and festivals in this region. The Vintage component is an effort to pull together expertly curated vintage and antique finds in one place for the vintage lover who doesn’t have hours and hours of free time for the hunt. It is also an extension of the handcrafters who “upcycle” vintage goods into new and exciting products.
