Can you imagine having a three story house with 13 rooms and 4 fireplaces? Built in 1845, this Federalist style home is preserved as a place to visit in Hillsville. It was built by Fielden Lewis Hale, who later served as a captain in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. He sold the home to James Wilkenson in 1864 for $10,000 Confederate Dollars. The home is now belongs to the people by Carroll County and serves as a museum.
