History Comes Alive at Booker T. Washington National Monument!
Booker T. Washington National Monument will host Harvest Time on Saturday, September 15 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Come experience a fun and educational family event that portrays life on a mid-19th century small tobacco plantation during the late summer “harvest time”.
Explore the park’s structures, gardens, trails and grounds, and experience the culture of subsistence and cash crop farming that Booker T. Washington would have been familiar with during his childhood on the Burroughs Plantation. The event features craft, farm demonstrations by expert living history reenactors, children's activities, food vendors and horse-drawn wagon rides.
