Art on 16 Contemporary Gallery is thrilled to announce that for July we will be exhibiting sculpture by Pat Wasserboehr. Ms. Wasserboehr’s abstract bronze, wood, or plaster pieces sometimes evoke gesture, calligraphy, and anatomical shapes, and at other times suggest mysterious, ancient objects. Yet any description of her work would be incomplete without mentioning its subtle playfulness that we find totally endearing. The work will be on exhibit from July 7 through August 1, with an opening reception on July 7 from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
Ms. Wasserboehr teaches sculpture and drawing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and served as Head of Department from 1998 to 2010. Her sculptures have been represented in art museums, centers and galleries throughout the United States and in China, Italy, Germany, and Spain. She is a participant in the Salem2Salem international exchange program in Salem, New York, and Salem, Germany in 2018. This is her third summer with the Digital Stone Project in Gramolazzo, Italy. Pat is the recipient of a North Carolina Regional Artist Project Grant, several UNCG Global Undergraduate Research and Creativity awards, and Kohler International Travel Fund awards.
